Information Security Manager

Cathy O’Hagan is an Account Director and Cybersecurity Technical Lead at AbleVets. Mrs. O’Hagan is responsible for the delivery excellence and growth of the company’s Veterans Affairs Office of Information Security (OIS) Account. Her efforts include responding to day-to-day cybersecurity requirements as well as implementing activities designed to improve the overall cybersecurity posture of VA’s systems through the application of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. O’Hagan assures that the cybersecurity requirements, baselines and operations build and maintain security in the systems/software development lifecycle through Risk Management Framework steps, NIST 800-53 rev 4 and NIST 800 160.

Previously, O’Hagan served as the Program Cybersecurity Officer for Accenture Federal Services where she developed and maintained security policies, procedures and controls for a healthcare application development environment compliant with the National Industrial Security Program, Risk Management Framework and NIST 800-53 rev 4 security controls. Earlier, at Strategic Insight, Ltd., she rose the ranks from Technical Analyst to Security Systems Engineer where she oversaw the corporate security plan, assuring compliance with DFARS 252.204.7012, which implements NIST 800-53 security controls.

In addition to being a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), O’Hagan holds a master’s degree in cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College and a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport.
