Interns are fully integrated into the AbleVets team and assigned projects that directly support our company mission, and in many cases are built around high-profile client delivery work.
We Invest In Your Career
Though the intern program only lasts the summer, at AbleVets we aim to provide you with skills that you can carry forward into your career for years to come. That’s why each class of AbleInterns is invited to participate in a weekly speaker series, one-on-one executive coaching, and a range of tech talks and communities of interest designed to help better prepare them to enter the working world.
A Network You Can Take With You
At AbleVets we know it’s all about who you know, so our internship program features several internal and external networking opportunities to help interns build relationships with peers and get more plugged in to their industry communities.
AbleVets hires interns to support a wide range of business functions. Here are just a few of our intern tracks:
You’ll be part of a collaborative team of product managers, software architects, UX experts, and fellow software engineers helping to design, implement, test and release software and applications that solve some of the toughest problems in healthcare access, continuity and coordination for Veterans. As a cyber security intern, you’ll work with a team to proactively coordinate a best in class response to security incidents and threats, helping to protect our Veterans’ most sensitive information and improving the security posture of the agencies that serve them. You’ll provide security analysis and technical support to monitor, identify, and mitigate security incidents, gaining experience in security operations, cyber security tools, intrusion detection, applications systems security monitoring and secured networks.
As an intern supporting corporate and project-level management consulting functions, you will have a position with varying responsibility and scope that will challenge you, help you develop greater business acumen and propel your professional and personal growth. Depending on background and interest, you’ll assist in the research, writing, and editing of reports or other materials, conduct analysis and present findings, communicate on project deliverables and recommendations to clients and internal teams, assess, improve and document businesses processes and support the development of strategies and solutions for our clients.
Digital Marketing & Communications
As a marketing intern you’ll be immersed in all AbleVets marcom channels, gaining exposure to both internal and external communications activities. Each intern’s experience can be tailored to align with their particular professional interests or area of study. Past marketing interns have developed and executed campaigns for AV social media, contributed stories to our internal newsletter, designed content for the AbleVets website, written press releases, and more.
