Named Corporate Small-Market Sector Leader at 20th Annual Leadership Awards Banquet

CHANTILLY, Va. – May 16, 2023 – AbleVets LLC, a leading provider of advanced health IT solutions for government, proudly announces that Women in Technology (WIT) selected Hildi Pineda, AbleVets’ president, as its 2019 Leadership Award winner in the Corporate Small-Market Sector category. The announcement was made at WIT’s 20th Annual Leadership Awards Banquet held on May 9, 2023 in Tysons, Virginia.

The Leadership Awards honor female leaders whose achievements, mentorship and contributions to the community align with the WIT mission of advancing women in technology from the classroom to the boardroom. Ms. Pineda’s nomination cited her achievements in advancing Veterans’ healthcare by positioning AbleVets as a technology partner to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and helping the VA provide high-quality, effective and efficient IT services at the point-of-care. Relative to her mentoring activities, it noted Pineda’s efforts in establishing AbleVets’ Women’s Network, a support organization that provides networking opportunities, promotes careers in technology and identifies ways to help women succeed in the workplace.

Margo Dunn, WIT President, remarked, “This year’s Leadership Awards gala was a double celebration: 25 years of Women in Technology and 20 years of our Leadership Awards program. We have honored more than 1,000 stellar female leaders in technology over the past 20 years, and each year we are honored in turn to be guided and inspired by their stories.”

Hildi Pineda said, “I am honored and humbled to be selected as the Corporate Small-Market Sector Award winner. I thank the WIT Board of Directors, Executive Committee and the selection committee for bestowing this tremendous honor on me. Congratulations to all of the 2019 WIT Leadership Award finalists and winners on their amazing accomplishments in the workplace, the classroom and the community.”

Pineda continued, “I’d also like to thank all the women who are creating lasting change as role models for the next generation and advancing opportunities for other women in technology. I am continually energized to be part of a community that sees women’s full participation in leadership and technology as critical to the future of the industry.”
