Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce award honors individuals, companies and nonprofits for service to Veterans

CHANTILLY, Va. – July 3, 2018 – AbleVets LLC, a leading provider of health IT solutions for government, is pleased to announce it is a nominee for a Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award. AbleVets will compete in the Meritorious Veteran-Owned Business category (established businesses) against 13 other worthy nominees. The winner will be announced at the July 18 awards program to be held at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

The Distinguished Service Awards honor individuals, companies and nonprofit organizations for their service to Veterans in the Greater Washington business community. The program recognizes those who have made meaningful contributions to help Veterans succeed at reintegration into society.

“Being nominated for this prestigious award is especially significant,” said Wyatt Smith, CEO of AbleVets. “As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, our overarching mission is to employ Veterans to perform work that improves the lives of Veterans and Active Duty. Our Veterans work on programs that are changing how health care services are coordinated and delivered – challenges they live every day. Being a finalist demonstrates that AbleVets is making a measurable impact not only on employing and serving Veterans in our local community, but also on improving health outcomes for all Veterans and their dependents.”

Smith continued, “I’d like to send my congratulations to all the nominees in all of the categories. They, like AbleVets, recognize the urgency of supporting the 22 million Veterans who have served our nation and ensuring they receive the benefits and services they deserve.”
